Our latest UFO sculpture, “Carjackers” has been approved. The old 1929 Model A Ford looks like it has just the right amount of rust for a car sitting in the hot desert sun for 30 years waiting for a group of E.T.’s to make their escape! On another note, we sold three sculptures this week!

Good Day in the UFO world
Today was a great day for our fledgling business. We sold 2 pieces, got the finished photos of “Carjackers” and a lot of UFO stories seem to be coming out! Perfect Storm?

Cafe Press – UFO Shirts
After being nagged for months, I finally opened a Close Encounters Store within Cafe Press. So far, I only put one design for t-shirts (including a very cool alien green t-shirt) but I think I will add some neat coffee mugs tonight.

We approved the final model for the next UFO sculpture “Carjackers” and the next step is paint & finish. We are very excited about this new design and think that this will be the best one yet!

Carjackers – Revision
Made some minor changes to the newest model. I found out that the car and the base are molded in one piece so it has to have a lot of material under the car which looked a little bit funny. We came up with a simple solution; simply add a stone texture to the surface and sprinkle some random stones around the perimeter. Now it looks like they high-sided the car and have to get it of the rocks!

Carjackers
This morning, I opened our email and found an image for the clay model of “Carjackers!” It was like Christmas in March! The design looks terrific and they achieved a level of detail and realism that is shocking. See the image for yourself:
LUNACON – Wrap Up
Well, the show was a miss for us. We only sold one piece during the 3 day event. We did have a good time, however and the one customer we had was very excited to get the “Moon Landing Conspiracy” model so that made the whole thing worthwhile.

LUNACON – Day 1
Well, the 1st day at the LUNACON show in Rye, New York has come and gone and was a disappointment for us. We did not sell any pieces during the 3 hours the show was open. Today will be an 8 hour day so we are hoping for the best. So far, the attendees seem to be mostly interested in books and t-shirts.
